Job description:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Sport Coordinator / Community Liaison to join our dedicated team. This dual role is crucial in promoting the physical well-being of our students while strengthening our relationship with the local community. The ideal candidate will possess excellent proficiency in isiXhosa, Afrikaans and English and a deep commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities:

Sport Coordination:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive sports program for students across all age groups.
  • Organize and manage school sports events, tournaments, and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate physical education into the broader curriculum.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to students, fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Community Liaison:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between The Kusasa Academy and the local community.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community members, parents, local organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote the academy’s values and mission within the community, encouraging active participation and support.

The person applying must have:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree or diploma in Sports Management, Physical Education, Community Development, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sports coordination, coaching, or a similar role.
  • Experience in community outreach or liaison work is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Passionate about education, sports, and community development.
