Grade 3 Locum Maternity Post

September – December 2024

Holy Family College is an established independent school situated in Parktown, Johannesburg. Throughout our 118-year history we have been guided by our Catholic ethos and progressive approaches to education.

Role:

  • We are seeking to hire a Foundation Phase educator who is able to teach Grade 3 in Term 3 2024 (September-December 2024). This is a locum post to cover maternity leave.
  • The successful candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for the Foundation Phase, coupled with proven teaching skills and will be looking for a school where they can grow personally and professionally as they contribute to quality academic achievements.
  • The Foundation Phase educator is responsible for creating a classroom that promotes learning, confidence and personal growth. The educator must be able to establish an effective rapport and positive relationships with learners, parents and other staff members. Knowledge of best practices in Numeracy, Literacy as well as First Additional Languages are imperative. The educator must be open to the use of technology in the classroom as well as the promotion of critical thinking and STEM activities.
  • The starting date is 1 September 2024.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree (PGCE, B.Ed.)
  • SACE registration, police clearance and 3 references
  • A willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school
  • A willingness to work as part of a team
