Facilities Manager / Grounds man

About the Position:
We are seeking an energetic, efficient, practically skilled individual who would fill the role of problem-shooter, handyman, building and grounds carer and maintenance manager for our three campuses. This includes daily operations of facilities to ensure a safe, compliant school environment. This includes managing health and safety, utilities, repairs and maintenance.
Expectations, Qualifications and competencies required:
- Matric certificate (minimum)
- Valid Driver’s licence – Code 10 would be advantageous
- Plumbing, carpentry, painting proficiency
- Local knowledge of the geographic region
- Mechanically competent and willing to upskill
- Servicing and maintaining electric tools and garden equipment
- Project management efficacy and competence
- Working to deadlines
- Applicant should be fluent in English and have basic fluency in isiXhosa
- Previous experience which would equip the individual for the scope of work, will be advantageous
- First Aid, Fire-fighting and Risk assessment certification or demonstrated knowledge
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in similar or same role
- Police Clearance certification, or application made
- Preference will be given to applicant’s resident in the Eastern Cape or presently living within 50 km of Matatiele.
