Minimum Requirements…


  • Minimum requirement is a recognised Degree and/or a 4-year professional Teaching Qualification.


  • Minimum of 8 years’ teaching experience in the same and/or similar type of position and environment. Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in the same and/or similar type of position

Job Specification…

Duties required:

  • Oversees the academic policies and procedures for all academic and support staff
  • Oversees the timetabling process and ensures that there are sufficient classrooms available to accommodate students
  • Regularly evaluates the application of existing policies and effective implementation of new policies
  • Analyses and responds to all academic issues by liaising with the various Heads of Schools
  • Ensures that the overall impression of the campus is aligned with the brand promise
  • Overseeing and being held responsible and accountable for the Academic and Non-Academic programmes
  • Manage all issues that have been escalated by the Heads of School (Academic, Sport and other)
  • Leads and manages the academic and support staff in the achievement of set school objectives and targets by ensuring that the school is a high performing entity
  • Ensures that academic and support staff roles and responsibilities are clarified and performance objectives are set by ensuring that the various Heads of School have implemented accordingly.
  • Manages and conducts performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures and takes corrective action where necessary with the assistance of the Heads of School. Ensures that a management succession plan is implemented
  • Manage strategic Human Resources in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements.
    Focusing on the Strawman and ratios agreed with the Managing Director.
  • Continuously monitor staffing ratios in conjunction with the HRBP and MD and ensure effective teaching loads.
  • Ensures that Employment Equity targets as well as Diversity and Transformation targets are set and achieved.
  • Oversees the management of the marketing process. Head the process of conducting regular open days and effectively manages the programme in order to attract new students and inviting parents for parent discussions.
  • Ensures that the Heads of Schools host subject related workshops and invites surrounding schools to attend
  • Manage the budget and ensures cost containment and signs off / authorises all expenditure
  • Supervises the effective management of the continuous debt collecting process and enforce suspension of students where accounts are in arrears
  • Monitors the age analysis
  • Assists with the compilation of the preliminary and final annual budget for the year with the input from the various Heads of School
  • Identifies all risks and hazards and ensures precautionary measures are taken prior to the commencement of hazardous operations
  • Enforce the requirements of the OHS Act and oversees compliance. Provides enforcement of measures in the interest of Health and Safety
  • Manage School registration; Legislation Compliance: Umalusi; policies and procedures
  • Assumes overall responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of students, staff and visitors

  • Computer literacy is imperative;
