Bridge House is an independent, co-educational, day and boarding school situated close to Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl in the Western Cape. The school is situated on 28 hectares of land with facilities housing three schools (Pre-Primary, Prep and College), four boarding houses and extensive sports facilities.
The school is seeking to appoint an:
Starting Date: February 2022
The areas of responsibility will be:
Buildings and grounds – upkeep, maintenance and development
Management of the buildings and grounds maintenance budget
Strategic – long term vision, improving facilities in an innovative and creative way
Projects – procurement and contract management
Managing risk – fire and security.
Serve on the OHS committee.
Function and events support
The successful candidate will:
Have at least five years’ experience in managing an estate. Preference will be given to school estate managers.
Be a role model with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, motivate and support a team.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Afrikaans and be computer literate.
Have excellent record keeping and administrative skills
Think and engage strategically.
Have the ability to work under pressure with superb planning and coordination skills.
The key purposeof the position will be to:
Ensure a well-maintained and safe environment for the activities of students and employees, focusing on using best business practice to improve efficiency and functionality, by reducing operating costs whilst increasing productivity. Importance is placed on the ability to maintain and improve the service ethic and to “go the extra mile”.
