English Teacher
Starting Date: 1 January 2026
The successful candidate will:
- have the ability to connect with children.
- be passionate about teaching English Home Language and have an active interest in innovative approaches to the teaching and learning of the subject.
- be naturally curious and an avid reader.
- have the necessary qualifications and experience to teach the IEB English Home Language curriculum to Grade 12 level – this is a minimum requirement of this position. Having marked Matric IEB examinations will be advantageous to the application.
- be willing to teach Further Studies English. While not a requirement, this will be an added advantage to the application.
- have excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills – and be a collaborative team player.
- embrace technology to significantly enhance the learning experience.
- encourage student participation in Olympiads and competitions and be able to offer extension for these students.
- continue to drive Bridge House as a centre for English excellence and development in the Western Cape.
- be willing to participate fully in the life of the school and extracurricular activities.
