Independent senior Boarding School for boys from Grade 8 to Grade 12

The Michaelhouse Economics Department is a place of high expectations. We have high expectations of our boys, and we have high expectations of ourselves. As such, the department is a place of learning and growth as we combine our efforts in search of continual improvement as educators. We do so to inspire our boys to give of their very best.

We seek an innovative, creative, dynamic professional with a thorough knowledge of, and passion for the teaching and learning of EMS and Economics to join our team. This post will require an energetic individual with drive and determination to begin in January 2023.


  • A degree, preferably with an Economics major.
  • A professional teaching qualification.
  • SACE membership.
  • Proven successful teaching experience in EMS and Economics to Grades 8 – 12 in the IEB curriculum would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Creativity and innovation in the classroom.
  • The ability to use technology as a tool for teaching and learning.
  • The ability to teach Accounting as well as a passion for entrepreneurial education would be advantageous.


  • Teaching a range of EMS, Economics and Accounting classes.
  • Involvement in a variety of co-curricular and pastoral duties in the school.
  • Accommodation will be provided on or near the Michaelhouse Estate to facilitate the successful fulfilment of duties and full involvement in the school programme.
