DIRECTOR OF CRICKET
As a school committed to maintaining and enhancing Cricket as a premier sporting code, Cornwall Hill College looks forward to appointing a new dynamic, committed and visionary director of Cricket. As an integral member of the sporting pipeline, the successful applicant will report directly to the Rector. Applicants must have good social, organisational, management and coaching skills. Some entrepreneurial and business skills would also be of benefit.
THE CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
- Have a Level 2, but preferably 3 CSA Coaching Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Have at least 5 years’ cricket coaching experience
- Coaching students.
- Be involved in all areas of the school’s cricket (Grade 0 – 12).
- Coordinate all academy coaching sessions: group/individual.
- Appoint academy coaches as required.
- Act as a link between the Mini, Prep and High School sections, ensuring players are being developed and integrated throughout the system.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Mini Cricket programme (Grade 0 – 2).
- Assist the Prep and High school in their allocation and coordination of coaches as part of the co-curricular component.
- Scout and attract potential cricket players.
- Increase the level of participation in cricket.
- Raise the profile of cricket, through cricket camps, tournaments, festivals and marketing.
- Monitor equipment and facility requirements for cricket and liaise appropriately and timeously for purchasing and maintenance thereof.
- Produce coaching resources for all coaching staff and assist in their development as required.
- Ensure all visiting teams are well hosted.
- Administer the cricket academy budget – liaising closely with the Deputy Principals: Co-Curricular over expenses, coaching expenditure and preparing the annual budget.
- Communicate effectively with parents and pupils.
- Implement, review and update the whole school cricket development plan.
- Develop relationships with local clubs and other schools.
- Attend Titans or other Cricket related meetings as directed or required.
- Have the ability to work with and develop players from different backgrounds across cultural identities.
