The College seeks to recruit a suitable applicant for the following position:
DIRECTOR OF BOYS SPORT
The successful candidate must:
- work together with the Director of Girls Sport to develop a common vision and mission for the department
- create and maintain effective communication strategies with all stakeholders
- promote all the sports available for boys and motivate students to participate
- follow up on attendance at sport and ensure an accountability structure is in place
- prepare and manage the relevant sports budget
- plan and manage the boys sport programmes so that practices, matches and festivals are equally balanced for all sports
- recruit and mentor coaches to fulfill the vision and mission of the department
- appraise the coaches and sporting programmes on a regular basis, providing feedback to management and implementing interventions to address any weaknesses
- ensure that the day-to-day sports activities occur seamlessly and, at the same time, have a medium to long term view of sport at the College
- be responsible for the implementation of the College Sports Policy
- positively reaffirm and recognise students’ achievements
- build the Easter Sports Festival as a prominent brand
The Director of Boys Sport will report to the Deputy Head (Co-curricular and Operational Planning)
The ideal candidate must have strong administrative skills, be able to anticipate and resolve problems, be a self-starter, and operate
independently and as a team player. Crucially, the person must have excellent interpersonal skills.
