Dainfern College Senior Preparatory seeks to appoint a Deputy Principal: Operations from 1 January 2026.
Dainfern College is an independent English-medium, co-educational school situated on Broadacres Drive, Dainfern, north of Fourways in Johannesburg. The College caters for Grades 0-12 and offers IEB Matric as the Grade 12 exit exam. Our ethos is Christian and is based on the core concept of respect. We are seeking a Deputy Principal of Operations to join our dynamic senior management team in the Senior Preparatory. If you are an innovative and proactive leader eager to make a significant impact, this role offers the chance to redefine operational excellence and enhance the high-quality experience we provide students in this educational phase. The role is vital in promoting holistic development, team spirit, and a culture of excellence, participation and inclusivity. Please note that there is a teaching component included in this portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take full responsibility for the daily operations of the Senior Preparatory school.
- Be responsible for the planning and execution of the termly calendar to ensure smooth operational flow across academic and extramural activities.
- Assist and support the leadership team to realise strategic goals and school improvement initiatives.
- Continue to grow the ethos of belonging and to have oversight of this in all areas of school life.
- Draft and oversee the implementation of policies and procedures within this section of the school.
- Oversee all administrative extramural duties to ensure the smooth running of the programme.
- Build strong partnerships and engage with staff, parents, students and the wider community.
- Participate fully in the life of the College.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A suitable professional teaching qualification from a recognised institution.
- Proof of registration with SACE with the sexual offenders’ clearance certificates
- A minimum of seven years of teaching experience with at least three years in educational leadership roles.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational, time management and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to be innovative and proactive in adapting to the changing needs of education.
- Ability to promote and embrace diversity and inclusion.
- Willingness and commitment to contribute to the school’s extramural and outdoor education programme.
- Experience in the independent schools’ sector will be an advantage.
