DEPUTY HEADMISTRESS – JUNIOR SCHOOL
(HEAD OF ACADEMICS/OPERATIONS)

Effective from January, 2023

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Have the appropriate 4-year professional educational qualification; a minimum of 10 years teaching experience; and ideally, a minimum of 3 years School Management experience in a similar type of school environment.
  • Responsible for the academic and operational running of the Junior School, reporting directly to the Principal.
  • Lead as part of the Management and Executive team and serve on committees as delegated and required by the Principal.
  • Well-versed in the IEB curriculum and assessment.
  • Implement a high-quality academic and assessment programme.
  • Have a creative and innovative approach towards teaching.
  • Keep abreast of educational innovations in South Africa and globally.
  • Be able to relate to children and have a positive approach to development and their well-being.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills and communicate regularly with parents.
  • Demonstrate high levels of computer literacy.
  • Have excellent organizational, planning and reporting skills.
  • Be willing to become fully involved in the school’s curricular and co-curricular programme.
  • Be SACE registered.
  • Be committed to upholding the core values and Christian ethos of the School.
  • Have evidence of clearance with the Child Protection Act and Sexual Offences Register before assuming the position.
