The Diocesan School for Girls seeks to appoint an exceptional candidate to the position of
Deputy Head: Transformation and People Development
Working closely with the Head of School and Council, the Deputy Head: Transformation and People Development will lead the school in initiating and implementing effective strategies that will include, but are not limited to, the following focus areas:
the personal, social and professional growth, learning and development of a diverse staff and pupil body
the development of a school and work environment where pupils and staff feel safe, valued, connected and inspired to be themselves, participate and contribute
This work is the responsibility of every member of the DSG community, but the incumbent will shape and support the school’s strategic plans, and inspire new initiatives, including practices, policies, programmes and curriculum materials that promote diversity, transformation, equity and belonging in all spheres of school and work life at DSG.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
an appropriate post-graduate qualification in the humanities, human resource management or change management, or related field
a proven track record in performing the duties described above (this may substitute for the qualification requirement)
experience in working with young people in an educational environment would be a distinct advantage
experience working in a human resources and/or staff development leadership role
excellent interpersonal skills
excellent administrative, communication and organisational skills
proven track record in leading strategy development and implementation
The successful candidate will embrace the Christian ethos of the school and will actively support and promote the vision, values and actions of the DSG in relation to diversity, transformation, equity and belonging.
The Deputy Head: Transformation and People Management is a senior-level management position, reporting directly to the Head of School and serving as a member of the Senior Executive Committee and ex-officio member of the DSG Council.
Commencement date: January 2021 or as soon as possible therafter
