We are seeking an innovative, creative, dedicated and energetic individual with the necessary skills and experience to join our dynamic staff team from 1 January 2025 (or earlier if available) in the following position:

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Professional qualifications and affiliations as required for working in a schooling environment.
  • Varied experience, both in classroom settings and outside of schools, having demonstrated ability to independently develop professional connections and skill.
  • Demonstrated expertise in listening and understanding needs, as well as in introducing systemic change.
  • Someone with a solid understanding of the developmental needs of boys. Must be willing to apply for Police Clearance, the Child Protection Act and Sexual Offenders Register.

Vision and Strategy:

  • Be a custodian of the Christian ethos of the school.
  • Provide inspiration and support for staff and boys in developing and implementing strategies for effective discipline.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of boys’ social and emotional learning.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of restorative discipline and how that can be applied in a boys only school.
  • Support the development of a community-wide common language and understanding of restorative discipline, natural and logical consequences for behaviour, and the teaching of pro-social behaviours.
  • Create safe physical and emotional spaces for teachers and boys. Support a cultural shift towards great emotional and mental well-being of staff and boys.
  • Collect data and track systemic change throughout the school to support good discipline, monitor patterns, and provide strong guidance for safeguarding.
  • As a member of the Executive, contribute to the development of detailed annual plans related to staff and student wellbeing and learning progression.
  • Integrate Pastoral Care into all aspects of learning and other school strategic imperatives.

  • An ability to contribute to the school’s compulsory extramural programme.
