Deputy Head – Academic Innovation, Research & Curriculum Development
The Boys’ Preparatory invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 May 2020 (negotiable).
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.
The requirements for this position are:
A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience, particularly in boys’ education
A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education
A strong interest in academic research, innovation and curriculum development
A willingness to teach and add value to the BP extra-mural programme
An understanding of staff professional development and a keen interest in leading the school improvement team
The ability to foster and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders; within the Boys’ Preparatory, across the College and in the broader education community
Previous experience in a leadership position within an ISASA school would be advantageous;
A high level of organisational, managerial, administrative and communication skills
An understanding of budget management and financial planning
A willingness to work within the values, Methodist ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the school
Proof of registration with SACE
Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
