We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cricket Professional to lead the coaching and performance aspects of our cricket programme across St Andrew’s College and St Andrew’s Preparatory. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop pupils of all abilities while advancing the school’s position as a centre of cricketing excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coaching & Development:
- Deliver high-quality coaching sessions focusing on skill development and tactical understanding.
- Plan, develop, and implement coaching across all age groups and abilities.
- Utilise video and statistical analysis to enhance performance.
- Lead preseason and out-of-season training programmes.
- Programme Leadership:
- Collaborate with the Teacher in Charge of Cricket to implement a unified coaching philosophy.
- Inspire and lead a team of cricket coaches, encouraging collaboration and professional development.
- Develop links with external cricket organisations and professional coaches.
- Talent Scouting & Development:
- Attend Prep school festivals to identify talented players for scholarships.
- Support pupils aiming for provincial and national team selection.
- Pastoral & Community Engagement:
- Act as a mentor to cricket scholars, supporting their personal and athletic growth.
- Promote cricket within the wider school community, generating enthusiasm and engagement.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide support for other sports as needed throughout the academic year.
- Attend school events and undertake duties as requested by the Senior Management Team.
Qualification and Experience Required:
- Minimum CSA Level 2 coaching qualification (Level 3 or CoachEd Elite Programme preferred).
- Significant cricketing experience as a player or coach at a representative level.
- Proven ability to coach players of all abilities and develop talent to a competitive level.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills.
- High level of ICT competency and ability to utilise data for performance evaluation.
- Passionate about cricket and committed to instilling its values in pupils.
- Strong leadership, patience, and dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
- A role model for pupils and staff, embodying the school’s core values.
