Educator in the following position:
COLLEGE – HEAD OF SUBJECT MUSIC
The ideal candidate will:
- display high levels of professionalism and commitment.
- need to lead a dynamic department that is integral to the cultural identity of the school.
- have a passion for the subject and for teaching.
- oversee the planning and implementation of all curriculum-related activities in Grade 8 to 12.
- be au fait with the latest trends in methodology, with sound technology skills.
- have effective communication, organisational and administrative skills.
- have a desire to be a lifelong learner
- be able to integrate 21st-century skills of collaboration and critical thinking into the curriculum
- chair the whole-campus music committee that ensures thorough coordination academically and extramurally of the prep and college music departments.
- administer the music lesson programme by vetting visiting teachers, preparing monthly billing lists and communicating with parents.
- prepare and manage departmental budget.
- direct and facilitate multiple instrumental and vocal ensembles.
- collaborate in the generation of interdisciplinary projects such as musical productions and arts showcases.
- enrich the liturgical proceedings in the weekly Roman Catholic mass by providing organ accompaniment, vocal and instrumental ensembles, and solo performances.
- have a SACE registration and appropriate teaching qualifications.
- display an understanding of the Catholic and Marist values of the school.
- adhere to our School ethos and value system.
