CBC Mount Edmund is a Catholic, co-educational College for students from Grades RRR-12 located in Silverton, Pretoria. The College has established an outstanding reputation for excellence within our Four Pillars – Spiritual, Academic, Cultural and Sport.

We are seeking a dedicated accountant to join the College to fill the position as College Finance.

The College Finance Administrator at CBC Mount Edmund reports to the Business Manager and, in summary, has the responsibility for the full bookkeeping function (with oversight of a Debtor/creditor clerk). This includes performing a variety of general bookkeeping, record keeping, accounting functions, administrative and office clerical duties; and computes, classifies, and records numerical data to keep sets of financial records complete.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete billing for the school (including all tuition and levy charges/discounts as applicable/aftercare/ad-hoc billing).
  • Assists arithmetical calculations for debtors on fees for the year if necessary.
  • Maintains file with Aftercare contracts and compiles registers as required.
  • Processes all payments on Pastel bank manager and reconciles bank statements monthly.
  • oversight and checking of petty cash and the accurate and timeous processing of such.
  • Payroll processing on SAGE VIP with monthly returns to SARS and UIF.
  • Preparation of payments for SARS & UIF timeously each month.
  • Annual SARS reconciliation.
  • Monthly pension returns and assistance with pension related documentation.
  • Prepares the documentation (as required by company policy/procedure) to process payments after receipt of requisitions.
  • Checks and reconciles debtor and creditor statements.
  • Collects and prepares expenditure data monthly (creditors processing) after checking/reconciliations.
  • Administers paycards within the organisation.
  • Distributes proof of payment if required.
  • Processes journals as required.
  • Maintains records and generates appropriate reports.
  • Processing of reimbursements for staff via payroll.
  • Maintains filing system as required, including archiving.
  • Obtains proof of banking details for any new banking creditor or changes to existing bank creditor.
  • Maintains and respects confidentiality of student, parents and office related information.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Business Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Accounting qualification advantageous
  • Pastel Partner (including bank manager)
  • Excel proficient
