We are a Cambridge Assessment International Education-accredited school and examination centre, giving our graduates the opportunity to leave with an internationally recognised qualification, and are looking to employ an Upper School Business Studies Teacher able to deliver the Cambridge curriculum at iGCSE and A-level.
If you have the appetite to be part of a small, yet growing Upper School, and to put in the work required to establish a fresh approach to learning to prepare our students for the 21st century, then this position may be for you. Candidates not willing to make educational paradigm shifts need not apply.
An understanding of the Montessori philosophy of education and how it can be applied in an Upper School context (12-18 years).
Suitable and relevant qualifications to enable the effective teaching of Cambridge Business Studies to a very high standard.
Experience in and knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum.
Registration with SACE.
Willingness to grow, lead and learn, especially in regard to student-led, active learning, critical thinking and 21st century skills.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and sound administrative ability.
The position includes:
Teaching high-quality Cambridge and iGCSE Business Studies to the High School, nurturing an independent approach to learning.
Ownership of the Newberry Business Studies curriculum and its continual development.
Facilitating and managing business experience and projects for the iGCSE students. This involves working with industry and academics to create real-world business experience.
Interaction and planning with Upper School staff
A dynamic, beautiful and innovative work environment.
Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) syllabus is designed to develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills.
The Cambridge International Examinations prepares school students for life, helping them develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning.
Cambridge A levels are internationally recognized and allow a successful student to be able to apply to local and international universities.
