Northfields is seeking to hire a Biology Teacher/EM to work in the Science Faculty for immediate start.

The Biology Teacher should be responsible to carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school’s policies.

The Biology Teacher will also be expected to demonstrate a thorough curriculum knowledge, effective teaching and assessing practices, engagement in continuing professional development and facilitation of high student achievement.

The potential candidate will report to the Head of Faculty- Science.

Key responsibilities

  • Planning of lessons
  • Teaching of curriculum content
  • Classroom management
  • Form tutor and extra-curricular activities
  • Monitoring student progress through meaningful assessment and feedback
  • Recording of student data
  • Safeguarding of students and their well-being

The successful candidate should possess the job specification as outlined below:


  • University degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in Biology
  • Post Graduate Certificate of Education (or equivalent)
  • Teaching Licence (Eligibility certificate to teach)


  •  Preferred – Experience in teaching IGCSE / MYP/ IBDP
  • Successful working relationships with students, staff & parents
  • Experience in cross curricular initiatives / projects
  • Experience of monitoring classroom performance across school


  • Demonstration of in-depth subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Consistently plan and deliver structured lessons that enable all learners to progress academically
  • Promoting Science as a subject to the students
  • Excellent ICT skills

  • Collaborative skills
  • Creativity and presentation skills
