Assistant to The Business Manager



Pridwin Preparatory School is a leading boys’ Prep School, situated in Melrose in Johannesburg. It is a non-denominational Christian day school with long-standing traditional values such as independence, responsibility, respect, empathy and leadership. We seek to appoint a dynamic Assistant Business Manager who will report directly to the Business Manager.

Starting Date: December 2021 / January 2022

Responsibilities of the Assistant to the Business Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the finances and administration of the school
  • Fee billing and collection
  • Debtors management
  • Cash management and liaising with financial institutions
  • Skills and equity management
  • Legal and secretarial
  • Payment processing
  • Management and statutory reporting

Preferred requirements are:

  • 5+ years of Accounts experience.
  • Excellent inter-personal and inter-cultural communication skills.
  • The ability to work well in multicultural environments and with diverse constituencies.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with parents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and research abilities.
  • Strong aptitude for developing and managing budgets.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Pastel and Excel.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, work well under pressure and be able to handle several projects at one time.
  • An ability to work independently, flexibly and co-operatively.
  • A willingness to go the extra mile.
