We seek to appoint an experienced Assistant Catering Manager who can:

  • Assist the Catering Manager in all aspects involved with the production and serving of meals within budgeted parameters;
  • Provide clerical support to the kitchen by coordinating functions and food service;
  • Manage stock levels through the POS system; and
  • Control orders, deliveries and storage of goods.
  • The prospective candidate must be flexible, as the role requires shift work, including evenings and over some weekends, depending on the needs of the organisation.

The successful candidate should:

  • Have at least two years of experience in hospitality and/or catering management, including administrative responsibilities;
  • Experience in school boarding catering would be advantageous;
  • Have excellent administration, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Conscientious commitment to customer service;
  • Strong team player;
  • Capable of working under pressure, can prioritise and schedule workflows;
  • Sound organizational skills;
  • Experience in the management of catering stock and menu costing;
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office;
  • Possess creativity, initiative, integrity and honesty;
  • In possession of a valid SA driver’s licence;
  • Have a Sexual Offender’s and Child Protection register clearance certificate, and
  • Be willing to support the Christian ethos of the organisation.
