Woodlands International College invites applications for the position of
Aftercare Assistant
Woodlands International College is a progressive, co-educational, independent College situated on a pristine wetland on the northern boundary of Boksburg. We are currently recruiting for a full-time Aftercare Assistant. (Please ONLY apply is you have experience working in an Aftercare centre, or similar)
Key responsibilities for the role include
- Conducting diligent and responsible monitoring of all students at the aftercare
- Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Liaise with parents.
- Manage behaviour of students according to the Woodlands Code of Conduct
- Planning, organising and supervision of children and various child-based activities.
- Supervising of homework
- Supervising the lunch routine
- Maintaining and accurate attendance register
- Participate in dismissal procedures at the end of aftercare, ensuring that each child leaves with the appropriate adult
- Ensure a professional, friendly and cordial relationship with both the students and the parents.
- Managing holiday club through the school holidays
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the College management team according to the College’s needs.
The successful candidate should have the following attributes:
- Good organising and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and energetic
- The intention to work according to the school’s ethos, specifications and policies
- A willingness to work as part of a team.
- SACE registered preferable.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the same or similar role in a school environment
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Have a willingness to participate in all facets of College life.
