Afrikaans Teacher Gr 8-12
The Girls’ College seeks a passionate and innovative applicant for the abovementioned full-time position which will be available from 1 January 2024.

The requirements for this position are:
- Relevant teaching qualification from a recognised institution; a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
- Previous experience in an IEB school is an advantage, as is experience in matric marking and curriculum development
- Ability to teach Afrikaans in a multi-layered classroom
- A passion for teaching and for the young people whose learning you would be expected to inspire
- Willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and an interest and ability to integrate IT into your teaching and learning
- A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience
- A commitment to on-going personal and professional development
- A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education
- Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
- An unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished team and an ability to take initiative and to act decisively
- A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well to participate in the broader life of the school
- An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos and co-curricular activities
- Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
