Afrikaans Teacher



The King’s College and Preparatory School is looking for an experienced and passionate Afrikaans teacher, starting in January 2021. The successful candidate will report to the Subject Head of Afrikaans and should preferably have experience in the FET phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be an experienced Afrikaans teacher who is willing to maintain the high academic standard King’s is known for.
  • Be an excellent time manager and team player and have strong administrative skills.
  • Be able to implement basic educational technology methodologies into the classroom environment.
  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Have a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Experience in working with the IEB curriculum.
  • Willing to teach any Grade within the College (Grade 7 – 12).
  • Competency in moderation skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience at this level would be beneficial.
  • Registration with SACE is required.
  • Police Clearance, Sexual Offenders and Child Protection clearance should all be submitted.
