St Alban’s College, one of South Africa’s leading independent boys’ high schools, seeks to employ a teacher of Afrikaans. We are seeking to attract an experienced and highly qualified professional to augment a strong and highly successful Afrikaans Department.

The ideal candidate will be a specialist Afrikaans (FAL) teacher who is well entrenched in the IEB environment and has a proven and successful track record in teaching Afrikaans at FET level.

The date of commencement is 4 May 2020.


  • An appropriate academic degree qualification
  • A passion for education and the desire to motivate and stimulate higher order thinking
  • Experience of teaching the IEB curriculum from Grade 8 to Grade 12
  • Excellent communication skills and classroom management
  • The use and integration of technology into the classroom is an essential criteria
  • Competence in terms of computer literacy, particularly Google docs, sheets, and classroom
  • The ability to contribute to the extra-curricular program within the school would be an advantage
  • A professional teaching qualification and SACE Registered
