An innovative, creative, child-centred and passionate approach to teaching and the broader life of the school.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching Afrikaans FAL or HL to a variety of grades and
especially Grade 6 and 7 would be favourable. Experience in a Head of Subject role would be an advantage.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
A passion and excitement for the language and culture and the ability to transfer this to your pupils through your teaching.
Knowledge of a thinking approach to teaching, learning and assessment.
Familiarity with Problem Based Learning and Project Based Learning models.
A thorough understanding of 21st Century educational skills.
The successful candidate will be highly organised and able to co-ordinate the teaching of Afrikaans at 1st Additional Language level.
Excellent computer literacy skills and an ability to integrate IT into your teaching and learning effectively.
Commitment to sport / extra-murals.
