The Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) is looking to fill the position of Advertising Sales Representative to sell across all their Marketing platforms, both print and digital.

Remuneration – Market Related Retainer and Commission.

Location: Countrywide / Home Office.

Type: Contract.

Company Description

ISASA is the largest and most inclusive association of independent schools in Southern Africa with 850 member schools serving over 200 000 learners and employing over 15 000 teachers.

ISASA has several print and digital platforms which reach their schools and parent bodies. These include the Independent Education Magazine, the ISASA Buyers’ Guide, the ISASA Year Planner and two websites (http://www.ieducation.co.za  and http://www.isasaschoolfinder.co.za).

Job Description

ISASA is looking for a dynamic, target driven, connected and professional sales executive to sell across their print and digital marketing platforms. The successful incumbent must possess the ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated to achieve sales targets, interact with existing clients, foster relationships with new clients and meet publication deadlines.

Please note that this is a work-from-home position. All candidates must have internet access, a mobile telephone and a home office in order to ensure optimal working capacity. A reasonable administrative allowance will be paid to maintain the incumbents home office.

Core Competences

  • Knowledge of either the education sector, or prior media sales experience in either print or digital essential.
  • Ability to build and maintain a database of suppliers to the education sector.
  • Willingness to perform informed cold calling.
  • Ability to ensure sale targets are met.
  • Accurate reporting on all sales tasks.
  • Ability to identify advertising opportunities.
  • Ensure good customer relations by making timeous follow-up calls.
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction and relationship building.
  • Ensure sustained project profitability by generating new business leads.
  • The establishment and implementation of good negotiation techniques.
  • Processing the sale from inception to collecting artwork and co-ordinating material.
  • Must be prepared to occasional collect arrear payments on marketing sales.
  • Attending industry related networking events and exhibitions.
  • Comprehensive account management role.

Skills

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills: verbal and written.
  • Facilitate a good sales pitch to a variety of clients – mostly business owners or CEO’s and Marketing Directors.
  • Ability to present at boardroom level.
  • Ability to structure proposals and campaigns for clients.
  • Capacity for constant follow up with clients.
  • Capability to identify advertising opportunities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to build database and extend existing client base.

  • Autonomous worker who is also able to work in a small team.
  • Client-centric approach.
  • Motivated to capitalise on commission-based compensation structure.
  • Entrepreneurial character and ability to run own financial arrangements.

Relevant Qualifications

  • Degree in Education / Media experience or qualification
