The Teacher Network is a recruitment agency. We exist to help schools find staff – from Gr RRR to Grade 12 teachers, through to HODs and Principals. Our placement fee is a percentage of the successful applicant’s CTC (Cost To Company).
We work with established schools in South Africa (as well as ISASA member schools in neighbouring countries). Most of our clients are independent schools, but we also work for some good government schools.
We only work with applicants/candidates who are:
professionally qualified educators
legally entitled to work in South Africa, and
proficient (at a professional level) in the medium of instruction of our clients’ schools.
WHY USE THE TEACHER NETWORK?
Your staff are your school’s greatest asset. School management teams are experts in education and running schools. Our work is finding school staff as per management’s specifications. The page “Why use a recruitment agency – and why use The Teacher Network?” on our website elaborates on this.
Mary Stuart started The Teacher Network in 2001 when she became aware of the difficulty schools had connecting with good professionally qualified and suitable teachers (both “relief” and permanent). An experienced teacher and an experienced HR practitioner, Mary has held generalist HR positions in companies such as Dorbyl Marine and Sandoz Products (Chemical Division) and also had a HR role at St Andrew’s Senderwood. Her teaching experience includes Gr 11-12 English at Westville Girls’ High in KZN, and isiZulu teaching across the board at St Andrew’s Senderwood. She was the Convenor of the Zulu User Group, and co-authored Zulu textbooks (Masizwane 4,5 and 6) published by Macmillan. She has many years experience in recruitment and selection, focussing on schools and their needs.
