Workshop on Finance for Non-Financial Managers

Good financial management is crucial to the health of a school in order to provide adequate funding for day-to-day needs and in planning for the future. Problems with a school’s financial governance and management almost always impact negatively on the education being provided to students.

This one-day ISASA workshop has been developed at the request of schools who want to increase the basic financial knowledge of their management staff so that they are in a better position to understand and maintain the financial health of their schools. The workshop covers the fundamental elements of financial management and financial statements.

Some of the concepts covered in the workshop include:

  • Basic accounting principles and financial controls
  • Understanding financial statements
  • Balance sheets
  • Income and cash flow statements
  • Budgeting

Facilitator: Sandy Sagar, ISASA Director of Membership and Operations.

Cost: R900 per delegate (excluding VAT).
