Sasol Supports Free Online Education During National Lockdown
As we settle into another week of a country-wide lockdown, we acknowledge the pressures our people are experiencing. This is a challenging time for everyone and Sasol will continue to do our best to support our employees, and fenceline communities, through various initiatives responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the virus continues to take its toll on the country, this puts pressure on the health sector. The lockdown, however, means an absence of contact learning over an extended period of time.
In an effort to bridge this gap and support remote learning, the Sasol Foundation has partnered with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and Africa Teen Geeks, to provide FREE online and interactive Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning (including a virtual classroom) for all school learners.
The initiative targets learners from Grades R to 12 in Mathematics; Mathematics Literacy, Natural Sciences; Physical Sciences; Numeracy; Literacy and Reading. The digital platform has been active since 30 March 2020 and will continue until the end of April 2020, with daily lessons streamed live from on weekdays between 08:00 and 17:00.
The online platforms will remain available beyond the lockdown period and is open to all learners through the following websites:
