Rules for the National Lockdown

Ministers briefed the media on Wednesday – just over 24 hours before nationwide lockdown – to give clarity on what is allowed or not allowed during the lockdown, and to explain how basic services will function.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • There will be no non-essential movement
  • Public transport will be limited to staff rendering essential services
  • Courier services will only be allowed for essential goods
  • Any place that does not sell essential goods will be closed
  • No liquor will be sold
  • All non-essential public and private facilities will be closed
