Online Model for Workshops

Following the arrival of Covid-19 in the country and the subsequent national state of disaster, ISASA has decided to postpone in-person workshops indefinitely and has worked tirelessly to bring all its Professional Development workshops online.

We continue to offer a full schedule of workshops remotely via Zoom from March to early September, as per the standard training period on the ISASA calendar. The course content has been altered to work well online and the sophistication of the technology allows us to administer break-away groups for discussions, take polls and facilitate plenary Question & Answer sessions seamlessly.

Our facilitators are essential to the success of our programme and their safety is of the utmost importance. Furthermore, we are sensitive to the varying levels of comfort with in-person work in our facilitator network due to individual health status.

As it is necessary to manage the department consistently and coherently, it is not possible at this time to grant exceptions to the remote instruction model.

While the situation in the country has improved considerably, the slow roll-out of the vaccine means that risk remains. Consequently, no decision has been taken to re-introduce in-person workshops at this time. We are hopeful for a return to in-person workshops in 2022.
