Interview on the Reopening of Private Schools

On Monday, 1 June 2020 the ISASA Executive Director, Lebogang Montjane, was interviewed by SABC TV News. He spoke on the readiness of independent (private) schools to re-open, as well as the procedures that schools were putting in place to comply with COVID-19 regulations.

Lebogang also addressed discussions held with the Department of Basic Education around the phasing in of grades at independent schools, as well as the issue of indemnity forms and why these do not absolve schools in the case of negligence relating to COVID-19.
