The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (Sadtu) is calling for more proactive measures from the government towards curbing the spread of coronavirus in schools.
The union’s secretary-general Mugwena Maluleke says they support the precautionary measures that Grayston Preparatory School:
We know very well that when we are dealing with a contagious virus which is spreading quickly around the world, panic is always going to be there. We believe that the school was protecting the children.
