Crossroads School hosts a Webinar Series for our colleagues in mainstream schools and any other interested teachers/therapists or parents who may benefit from the various topics covered.
The intention behind this Series is to share information with you on various learning difficulties in children, how they manifest, what to look out for, how to manage these difficulties in your classroom and some top tips on tools and skills that are effective.
Our belief is that the more we know as educators, the better we are able to support our children to ultimately be best prepared for learning going forward. Sharing information and experiences normalises the many issues our children face and destigmatises these issues for our children and their parents.
As schools, consulting with specialists in their field helps us interrogate if our systems are working to the best of our intentions towards our common goal of educating children effectively.
These talks are hosted by our specialists: Remedial Teachers, Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Special Education Experts.
The COST: 1 hour of your time.
The Webinar Series theme for the next four episodes is “SUPPORTING LEARNER PERFORMANCE” (time: 17:30-18:30 on each date) – they are separated into the following sessions and dates:.
- 16 February 2023 – The Caregiver Role in Facilitating a Calm-Alert State in the Child.
- 30 March 2023 – The School/Educator’s Role in Sustaining a Calm-Alert State in the Foundation Phase Child.
- 18 May 2023 – The School/Educator’s Role in Sustaining a Calm-Alert State in the Intermediate/Senior Phase Child.
