Concerns over Possible Decline in Enrolment at Independent Schools

On 26 May 2020 the ISASA Executive Director, Lebogang Montjane, was interviewed by Jeremy Maggs of eNCA News.

Lebogang spoke on concerns about a possible decline in enrolment at independent schools, given the COVID-19 lockdown and the effect on the South African economy.

Where parents elect to retain their children in independent schools, many that are experiencing financial difficulty may consider a less expensive independent school option.

He also discussed what measures schools were putting in place to reduce costs and, where possible, provide assistance to parents who were struggling to pay school fees.
