BOOK NOW to see globally acclaimed James Nottingham in S.A!

James Nottingham is an educational leader, author and entrepreneur who developed The Learning Pit model to help students through the process and stages of engaging with stretching challenges. He has been featured in a BBC documentary about Philosophy for Children, acclaimed as a Future 500 forward- thinker, and is an ICOT (International Conference on Thinking) Presenter. Having started his career teaching hearing-impaired children and having been a teacher himself, he understands the need for practical classroom strategies.

The Learning Pit is for the teachers, leaders and support staff who wish to guide their students in the development of critical, creative, caring and collaborative thinking. It is a model that provides learners with a language to think and talk about learning. It helps build participants’ resilience, wisdom and self-efficacy. And when it is used as a structure for learning, it can also improve teacher clarity and raise expectations of success.
