It is important to ensure fairness (and not just lawfulness) in learner discipline. Fairness has two distinct but inter-linked components: procedural and substantive fairness.

This pro forma assists schools to create a fair disciplinary code for learners.

ISASA member schools are not required to make use of this policy; it is provided by way of example. As a Pro Forma (standardised draft) document, this code should also be appropriately and properly customised by the user to suit their requirements.
