Varsity College Sandton is proud to be the hosts of the Inspired Teachers Conference. The Conference recognises and learns from teachers who know how to light up a classroom; shares leadership lessons and inspiration and focuses on celebrating excellence in teaching.

Themes that will be covered include:

  • Why teaching and leadership are inextricably linked;
  • The best new ideas for engaging students;
  • Critical thinking – how to harness and teach the ability to think clearly and rationally; and
  • The value of mindfulness.

Some of the prominent speakers and their topics are:

  • Dr Chris Emdin, Associate Professor at Columbia University: Teach teachers how to create magic
  • Trevor Ncube of the Mail & Guardian Group: Get out and stay out: overcoming self-imposed limitations
  • Ruda Landman, former co-anchor of Carte Blanche: In one generation

The event is open to facilitators who are keen to learn the best teaching methods available; teachers looking for inspiration; change agents committed to the future of South Africa’s youth or parents who accept that education is a community responsibility. The cost is R1 250 (excl vat) including lunch and teas.
