Becoming a member

Any independent (private) school in Southern Africa may apply to become a member of ISASA. Membership is voluntary and does not take the place of requirements that a school must comply with in terms of law (e.g. South African schools must still register with their provincial departments of education).

Membership of ISASATo apply, a school should complete the application form for high and primary schools or the application form for ECD schools. The completed form should be returned by post or fax to:

Mr John Lobban
Deputy Director: Membership
ISASA
Post: PO Box 87430, Houghton, 2041
Fax: 011 648 1467

All ISASA members schools must also agree to abide by the ISASA Conditions for Membership.

ISASA levies member subscriptions on a per pupil, per annum basis, and on a six-category sliding scale determined by the socio-economic circumstances of the member school. In effect, the lower the school's income the less ISASA charges the school for membership. The per-category subscription rates for 2010 are available for download. A prospective member is welcome to contact ISASA to obtain an exact calculation of member subscription rates for that school.
