Any independent (private) school in Southern Africa may apply to become a member of ISASA. Membership is voluntary and does not take the place of requirements that a school must comply with in terms of law (e.g. South African schools must still register with their provincial departments of education).
Mr John Lobban All ISASA members schools must also agree to abide by the ISASA Conditions for Membership. ISASA levies member subscriptions on a per pupil, per annum basis, and on a six-category sliding scale determined by the socio-economic circumstances of the member school. In effect, the lower the school's income the less ISASA charges the school for membership. The per-category subscription rates for 2010 are available for download. A prospective member is welcome to contact ISASA to obtain an exact calculation of member subscription rates for that school. |
