McCullagh & Bothwell (Mc&B), established in 1896, is a family run business with a wealth of experience in the supply of school uniforms. We presently offer various uniform services to approximately 130 schools. Our name is synonymous in the market with quality and dependable supply, and we strive to do business with integrity and committed attention to detail.

Broadly speaking, Mc&B can provide three distinct services designed to meet the varying and particular needs of schools.

With the "traditional" Retail service, Mc&B works with the school to design and maintain the uniform, and sells the uniform directly to parents and pupils from one or more of our Johannesburg branches.

Mc&B's Consignment service requires that stock, which is owned by Mc&B, is sent to the school to be sold at the school premises. Payment for sales is remitted to Mc&B, less a commission, on a monthly basis. The system is attractive to schools in under-serviced or remote areas, allowing the school to offer a convenient and efficient service to its community. As Mc&B monitors and maintains stock levels, the school does not tie up scarce capital in stock and avoids the costly and frequent occurrence of schools purchasing uniform from the wrong supplier, at the wrong time, at the wrong price and in quantities and sizes that are not appropriate.

In some cases schools may decide to purchase and resell the uniform, either in full or in part, directly themselves. Our Wholesale service allows schools to purchase uniform directly, and at a significantly discounted price, from ourselves. In this way, the school leverages off our understanding of the industry, relationships with our suppliers and superior buying power.
