Imaging Innovations (Pty) Ltd is a South African company, established in November 1998, which provides both Digital Imaging Solutions to the Engineering and Digital Reprographics markets, as well as Group Learning Solutions to the Education and Training Markets.

Imaging acts as a focused distributor of Wide Format Monochrome and Colour Digital Imaging Solutions for the CAD/CAE, GIS, Mining, Municipal, Engineering and Digital Reprographics markets.

In 2001, Imaging investigated the then emerging market in the UK for whole class, cross curriculum educational tools using Interactive Whiteboards and identified Promethean Ltd of Blackburn as the future leader in this field. With their third generation digital boards, designed to withstand the rigours of the educational environment, and their flexible presentation software, the Promethean ACTIVboard/ACTIVstudio products are geared to the establishment of the Intelligent Classroom – and their growth over the past three years to Europe’s largest manufacturer is testimony to this fact.

Imaging secured a sole reseller relationship with Promethean at the end of 2002 and launched the product set in February 2003. To minimize the cost to the end user, the products are sold directly to the end-user – primary and secondary schools, tertiary education institutions and corporate organisations.

The Promethean Interactive solution allows Imaging to provide a solution to teachers, designed by teachers, and combines the old functionality of blackboards, overhead projectors and media resources into an exciting solution which will allow South Africa to bridge the Digital Divide, and develop both learners and educators, as well as in many cases providing the focus of a community learning center.
