Education Week

2 – 4 July 2012

Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg
.

African Education Week looks at critical issues affecting schools, FET colleges and universities, and provides a forum for representatives of all these sectors, as well as government, publishers, e-learning providers and  corporates, to identify what needs to change and how, what new technologies and ways of thinking can enhance teaching and learning, and how to equip students for the demands of the workplace.

The 2012 programme has been divided into four tracks focusing on basic education, further & higher education & training, educational technology, and public and private partnerships, with a strong focus on literacy & numeracy and teacher training & development.

The challenges facing the education sector cannot be addressed in isolation, and African Education Week brings together individuals with diverse areas of interest, knowledge and skills to share their ideas and work in unison to ensure that educational institutions adequately prepare our youth to become future leaders, hence the theme for this year’s conference ‘Empowerment for all through quality education’.
