A NEW VENTURE

Woodhill College is a young, independent, non-denominational school which opened its doors in 2001 to Boys and Girls from Gr 000 (4yrs) to Gr 9 (15yrs). In 2004, the school had its first Gr12 group and will then have completed a major part of its development with a projected student body of 1350.

SITUATION

Woodhill College is situated on a 14 hectare property adjacent to Woodhill Golf and Residential Estate, in Pretoria East. The peaceful setting and spacious, secure grounds, provide an ideal environment for an educational institution within a totally secure environment. The College was officially opened on 9 February 2001 and Phase V, which opens in 2005, will add a technology and art block and a ten lane swimming pool to the existing facilities.

Woodhill aims to enrich the lives of its students and their families through a commitment to Christian principles and a dedication to the pursuit of excellence. The College provides a holistic approach to Education involving the Academic, Sporting, Cultural and Spiritual development of its young people. It aims to promote mutual respect and tolerance in all areas and consideration for the needs of individual students.

TEACHING EMPHASIS

Due to our small class sizes (20/24) and favourable teacher:pupil ratio our dedicated and caring staff can encourage Academic excellence, open communication, decision making, problem solving and also the nurturing of an entrepreneurial spirit. The former, all being essential in ensuring that our pupils will become confident members of their society on leaving school.

OUR FACILITIES

Five well equipped computer facilities are used by all pupils, from pre-school to the Senior class. Our sport programme is well under way and we offer the following range: cricket, rugby, soccer, tennis, netball, hockey, squash athletics,swimming and softball. Dance is also offered as an afternoon activity, by one of our staff. A number of our pupils also do horse-riding and golf. Other extras such as “cricketec”, “playball”, karate and music are on offer.
