The King David Schools were established by the Jewish Community with the specific purpose of advancing and maintaining Jewish Life through providing the children with a Jewish education. Jewish culture and tradition form an integral part of the school curriculum enhancing our commitment to Jewish values and general excellence.
The King David Schools have consistently achieved outstanding academic results in public examinations. Year after year the results of matriculants in our High Schools appear in the headlines, highlighting an impressive number of distinctions and an outstanding pass rate.
King David employs the services of trained sports instructors, art specialists, music specialists, drama specialists, a librarian as well as an excellent teaching staff.
We offer a wide variety of cultural extra murals and competitive sports as extra murals and encourage each learner to find his niche.
Our computer laboratory is available to the learners at all times and from grade 0, the learners are taught to use the computer as a productivity, research and communication tool. The South African Board of Jewish Education partners with Knowledge Network in Information Technology education.
We also have a trained social worker to deal with the stresses and strains of daily lives. Short term counselling and support groups for children, parents and teachers are offered. A well designed life skills programme is offered to the classes.
The Academic Support and Enrichment Department serves to remediate learners who have learning difficulties. This department has also introduced an enrichment programme directed at all learners but specifically at the brighter learner, using the Multiple Intelligence theory.
