The idea to found Bateleur College came from the urgent need to establish an alternative to the chaotic state of education in the north eastern/western suburbs of Roodepoort/Randburg.

The College will give boys and girls of all denominations a broad and full education. The College is currently being registered with ISASA (Independent Schools Association of South Africa) and the Gauteng Department of Education.

The educational policy specific to the College is the pursuit of excellence for all pupils, each one being stretched to the limit of their own particular talents in a healthy and stimulatory environment.

The College will use highly trained and competent teachers, using modern methods and equipment in attractively furnished classrooms.

There is nothing more lasting value that a  parent can give his child than a good education. No period of the child’s life is as important as the formative years between 4 and 13.  In these years they learn the habits of thought and behaviour as well as moral values which affect them for better or for worse, throughout their lives.

Under the headmastership of Mr Glen Greenway B.Sc. (S.A.) T.T.D. (J.C.E.), the staff will bring a wide range of experience in education. Their concern for each pupil will not end with the lunchtime bell.  The College has 9 acres of pristine land that will enable pupils to take part in a wide variety of organised activities.

Classes will be kept small and for what the College offers the fees are very low indeed. Day pupils only will be catered for and the aim is to establish a happy, cordial relationship between pupils, parents and staff.
