Hillcrest Christian Academy opened its doors in January 1994 as a small school with 60 pupils.  It was the vision of Hillcrest Christian Fellowship to start a school on its property to provide the greater Highway community and surrounding areas with a Christian Education system.

It has grown into a popular co-educational Pre- and Primary School where children are given the freedom to grow, nurture character development and discover their gifting.

The HCA campus is situated on 20 acres of prime land bordering Inanda Road in the leafy country suburb of Hillcrest, just north of Durban. The school has a lovely homely atmosphere with cottage-style classrooms where children can relax in a learning environment.

The PreSchool starts at Grade 000 through to Grade 0 and the Primary School goes from Grade1 to Grade 7.  A healthy balance of  educational, spiritual, sporting and cultural activities are offered and children are encouraged to participate in all areas of school life.

The campus has recently been upgraded and now boasts a new pool, tennis courts, netball courts and cricket fields.  A new Media Village is in the process of being completed and will contain the media centre, computer rooms, internet research area and music and language laboratories.
