St George’s College, situated in the heart of Port Elizabeth, was started in 2001 to continue the tradition of St George’s Prep, established over 70 years ago.

Since its humble beginnings in 2001 with just 7 pupils the College has now reached its maximum intake of 125 pupils.  We have one class per grade of 25 pupils in each grade.  We pride ourselves on the small school environment where the teacher–pupil-parent relationship is a family relationship.

With the focus on small classes and committed teachers our aim is to help each student reach their full academic potential irrespective of their academic abilities.  Pupils are encouraged to work closely with their teachers and a lot of one-on-one extra tuition is common.  We strive for excellence in each and every pupil in a caring, disciplined environment.

The College students are also actively involved in the sports programme and sport is played at a level that suits the ability of the students.  There is also a wide range of cultural activities on offer to enable students to receive a well balanced education.

Once students leave the College we as a teaching staff believe that they have received an education for life.  They will be able to think independently.  They will pursue excellence, relish hard work and become leaders in their chosen fields.
