Beaulieu College

School Type: Co-Educational

Beaulieu College is a modern, coeducational, independent day-school for pupils in the secondary phase of their education. Each of these adjectives is important in qualifying what we offer. Founded in 2000 in response to a community’s need for a secondary school, our vision is to become the preferred choice school in our region.

Being young we are free to embrace the values of a truly democratic South Africa without being tied to worn out traditions. As a member of the Independent Schools Association of South Africa we are benchmarked against the best on offer in South African education. We think that our decision to be coeducational allows our children to learn in a more natural way as well as reflecting the nature of the world of work and society they will enter.

We think that our pupils should emerge from our College with the ability:

  • To think independently and honestly
  • To communicate effectively
  • To pursue excellence with self-discipline and courage

We want to teach our children to:

  • Value integrity
  • Respect others and themselves
  • Relish hard work and achievement
  • Develop a desire to lead by being willing to serve others

Our strategy for achieving these outcomes is to

  • Set high academic expectations
  • Offer expert academic support
  • Ensure the effectiveness of our co-curricular programme
  • Provide a disciplined but caring environment in which to develop
Our advantage is that we are still small enough to provide genuinely individual attention. We are accountable to parents on a daily basis. We aim to help our pupils to discover a proper balance between the physical, the mental, the social and the spiritual dimensions of life.
