The International School of Cape Town was established in 1988 in response to requests from parents in Cape Town who had a common dream for a school that would offer their children a high-quality international education within a caring environment.
The International School of Cape Town follows the UK National Curriculum. Due to rapid growth, in 1999 The International School of Cape Town in Hout Bay was started, followed by the International Schools of Cape Town in Tygerberg and Helderberg in 2000. All the schools are not-for-profit organisations, as well as being registered with the Western Cape Education Department.
Due to the growth of all four schools, it was decided that from January 2003, each school would operate independently from the International School of Cape Town, with its own Governing Body. Professional links between staff members at the various schools have been maintained in order to continue sharing ideas and expertise.
The International School of Helderberg is dedicated to developing happy students with a positive self-image, good manners and high moral character. Our aim in all that we do is to 'bring out the best in every child,' encouraging all pupils to always give of their best.
Our small classes enable teachers to give each child personal attention, helping each one develop their fullest potential. We welcome children from all faiths, nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. Our school has a Christian ethos and commits itself to providing the highest standard of education through personal, individualised teaching.
